Decoding how guidance documents are developed and endorsed by EASD
Guidance documents endorsed by EASD have substantial impact on clinical practice worldwide. Therefore,
it is EASD’s mission to ensure that these documents not only make a difference for people living with diabetes,
but also that they are as robust as possible and that how they are being developed is transparent to the community.
Watch Richard Holt and Apostolos Tsapas, the co-chairs of EASD’s Committee on Clinical Affairs (CCA) and Guideline
Oversight Commitee (GOC), discuss different types of guidance documents, and their specific merits. Also, find out
how to be a part of the development process, as broad participation of the membership is a major goal of
EASD’s clinical guidance activities.
