Decoding Screening for Type 1 Diabetes
Islet autoantibodies allow us to detect progression to type 1 diabetes early, before the onset of clinical symptoms.
Watch Chantal Mathieu and Emanuele Bosi exchanging their expert perspectives on
- the updated staging criteria for presymptomatic type 1 diabetes
- emerging therapies to delay disease progression
- why and how to screen children from the general population, decoding the new Consensus Monitoring Guidance for Monitoring Individuals with Islet Autoantibody-Positive Pre-Stage Type 1 Diabetes.
Find out where to screen a child in Europe on EDENT1FI.EU – the European action for the Diagnosis of Early Non-clinical Type 1 diabetes For disease Interception. The network brings together academics, industry and patient organisations, and aims „to arrest type 1 diabetes at the pre-clinical phase“. For that, 200,000 children across Europe are to be assessed in the coming years.
