How do we reduce stigma without silencing public health messaging or political urgency? This is one of the five questions at the intersection of psychology and diabetes asked by Jane Speight, foundation director of the Australian Centre for Behavioural Research in Diabetes, in this episode. She calls for a more evidence-informed and person-centred approach to improving the lives of people with diabetes, from the trajectory of diabetes distress and fear of hypoglycaemia to self-stigma and media framing.
