Initiated to bring guidance up to speed with rapid advances in the diagnosis and treatment of type 1 diabetes, the ADA/EASD writing group completed its consensus report in 2021. Covering a vast range of topics, the report puts psychosocial support for people with type 1 diabetes centre stage, along with personalised care, individualised targets and diabetes self-management and education.
By the end of this module, you will be able to:
✓ Summarise recommendations on the major areas covered by the ADA/EASD 2021 consensus report on the management of type 1 diabetes in adults
✓ Identify the role of diabetes self-management education (DMSE) and the psychosocial impact of living with type 1 diabetes
✓ Plan the out-patient and in-patient care of adults with type 1 diabetes
