This module presents an overview of historic and contemporary trial data and examines what this can tell us about the changing face of cardiovascular risk for people with diabetes.
By the end of this module, you will be able to:
✓ Summarise the impact of type 1 and type 2 diabetes on the risk of cardiovascular disease, including coronary heart disease, stroke, heart failure and vascular disease
✓ Identify how people with type 2 diabetes first present with vascular disease compared with those without diabetes
✓ Explain the multiple mechanisms that contribute to cardiovascular disease in people with diabetes
This module includes self-marked assessments, such as knowledge checks and/or case studies, as well as a marked final assessment, which you can attempt up to five times. To complete the module, you must review all chapters, pass the final assessment (80% pass mark), and fill in our feedback form.
