In this learning module, you will learn about treatment of gestational diabetes, focusing on diet and physical activity, and also, when it's necessary, the choice between oral antidiabetic treatment and insulin treatment.

This module will allow you to identify what the initial management strategies and pharmacotherapy for the treatment of GDM are, and how to advise women with GDM in a range of lifestyle choices from diet and physical activity as well as discussions on both oral antidiabetic drugs and insulin.

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

Explain the initial management strategies recommended for the management of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM)

Explain the recommended lifestyle and pharmacological advice and strategies for monitoring women with GDM

Develop plans for the initial management of women with GDM
