We've changed the way you complete courses

In response to user feedback we have simplified the way courses can be completed.

Until now you needed to complete the topics and modules in order, from start to finish. But from today you can complete them in any order you wish.

Just visit any topic that interests you, and when you are ready mark it as completed by clicking the green 'Mark complete' button at the bottom of the page.

Once you have completed all of the topics in a module an assessment will be provided for you.

Complete all the assessments to finish the course.

Thanks, I've got it! X

Play the video to watch Professor Thomas Danne discussing unmet need
Now, it’s not only about glycaemic control and cardiovascular mortality. This slide shows you data from the T1D Exchange clinic registry in the USA, a registry of very big and renowned diabetes centres. Nevertheless, as you see, the glycaemic control is far off target, and also that there is a lot of hypoglycaemia, there is a lot of overweight and there is a lot of DKA (diabetic ketoacidosis) still there. So, acute complications, obesity and glycaemic control – there’s a lot of unmet need also in these areas. This is the American data, but the same goes for European, or elsewhere, data showing that, in type 1 diabetes, it’s not only mortality but it’s also acute complications and the rate of obesity that need to be improved.

DKA: diabetic ketoacidosis;
HbA1c: glycated haemoglobin
